Mindfulness techniques help children cope with life’s challenges.

As more adults turn to mindfulness practices like yoga and meditation to combat mounting stress in their own lives, they’re also experimenting with alternative practices to teach their kids to relax.

Unfortunately, little ones aren’t immune to the damaging effects of stress — but they may benefit from stress-relieving practices meant to calm the mind and release physical tension. Children often don’t know why or what has upset them, so how can they communicate this with you,

Children often don’t know why or what has upset them, so how can they communicate this with you?

We feel safe when we are connected to life: to our breathing, our bodies, to each other. When our children feel connected, safe and centered, they can engage with life and all its joys and challenges.

They can self-regulate their stress, reduce anxiety, learn more easily, develop emotional intelligence.

Teaching kids mindfulness can go a long way in helping them boost awareness and control their moods. No sessions are set in stone, the classes have to flow to cope with the needs of the child, but here are examples of some of the classes.

The Little Minds Matter course is for the child and parent/carer, where the parent learns along with their child. Skills learned can be used at home. This is a six-week course or offered via one-to-one support.

As a qualified children’s, mindfulness practitioner and therapist. I have taken further studies to help with children’s issues, and can see children on a 1 to 1 session, and have had success with lots of children. from anger issues, to low confidence, bullying, feeling excluded, phobias, fears, self harm and more, with long waiting lists, why not bring your child to see me, each child goes away with tools and techniques’ to help them cope with life’s challenges.
